A unanimous opinion: A Great Career, a Great Man, Professor Dumitru PATRICHE

Professor Dumitru PATRICHE was always that special person inspiring us to give our best in discovering knowledge and innovation, in order to become what we potentially are on the continuous way of shaping our personality. And all this as a continual extension of his powerful personality while guiding us in creating our way by our walking.

Professor Iacob CATOIU, a distinguished representative of the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies, and  Honorary Member of the Romanian Distribution Committee, published in February 2008, in the well-known “Amfiteatru Economic” Journal, a profound testimony: “A MODEL FOR THE FUTURE GENERATIONS: PROFESSOR DUMITRU PATRICHE” (pp. 260-263, “Amfiteatru Economic”, No. 23/2008 (http://www.amfiteatrueconomic.ro/RevistaDetalii_RO.aspx?Cod=8).

More recently, at the end of 2011, a testimony coming from the last former PhD student of Professor Dumitru PATRICHE was published in the Romanian Distribution Committee Magazine. On January 16, 2014, His Beatitude DANIEL, Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church, Archbishop of Bucharest, and Metropolitan of Muntenia and Dobrudgea, has consecrated the painting of the Romanian-American University’s Chapel and inaugurated the “Lux Mundi” reading room. On this occasion, Parish Priest Physician Drd. Vlad Toader was made iconom stavrofor.

At the end of the consecration, His Beatitude Daniel spoke wise words that also grabbed the participants’ attention.

Among the numerous participants we noted the presence of Professor Dumitru Miron, President of the Romanian-American Foundation for the Promotion of Education and Culture, Professor Ovidiu Folcuț, Rector of the Romanian-American University (RAU), Vice Rector Doinita Ciocirlan, Director Moni Smedescu and other representatives of the academic community.

His Beatitude Daniel emphasized in the speech delivered the importance of the role of the Chapel at the Romanian-American University in bringing together the academic community, in enriching themselves in the relationship of love with God and the humankind, thanking God for all the gifts received, for the existence of the world, for the help given in various difficult circumstances, for our biological parents and for our spiritual fathers. His Beatitude also remembered the very special moment with His Beatitude Teoctist, the Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church and Professor Ion Smedescu, RAU Founding Rector on the occasion of the Consecration of the Romanian-American University Chapel in 2007.

Allow us to remember that Professor Ion Smedescu, Founding Rector of the Romanian-American University, chose the same day as Rev. Prof. Dr.  Dumitru Stăniloae, the 5th of October (1993, namely 2008), to step on the path of eternity. Former student of the „Christian love Theologian” – Father Staniloae, Professor Ion Smedescu often mentioned Father Staniloae, speaking of the misterious beauty of a wonderful landscape and the necessity of the conscious sense of the ordinance, of the beauty, in order to perform a task the right way, in joyful communion.

It is also worth to highlight that Rev. Prof. Dr.  Dumitru Stăniloae was the mentor of the scholar Dan-Ilie Ciobotea who prepared, under his distinguished supervision within the context of “Doctor in Orthodox theology” process, the thesis “Christian Theology and Spirituality. The relation between them and the present state of things”. On the occasion of this thesis presentation, Rev. Prof. Dr. Dumitru Stăniloae said: “It is this kind of people that we need, people wishing to live according to the teaching of our Church”

Thursday, December 5^th, 2013, the Romanian National University of Political Sciences and Public Administration (NUPSPA), confirmed again the highest duty of respecting distinguished Romanian personalities by providing another important learning opportunity in considering their significant contributions made for our Country, Romania. It is indeed salutary this constant NUPSPA (SNSPA) concern for bringing in the deserved light such distinguished high public functionaries engaged in making national identity robust and communicable thanks to their professional stature and vitality. In fact, on this special occasion NUPSPA (SNSPA), our Governmental School, sent a clear message that the ultimate responsibility for the nation brand’s success lies with its citizens, and expressed its joy of honoring true Nation Brands’ Ambassadors who have made a real and valuable contribution to our society.

It is natural therefore that Prime Minister Victor PONTA was attending this remarkable ceremony, by highlighting from the very beginning the significant contribution of both former Romanian Ministers of Finance, Florin GEORGESCU (who was awarded the title of Doctor Honoris Causa of NUPSPA on November 21, 2013: www.ibr-rbi.ro/news/decernarea-titlului-doctor-honoris-causa-d-lui-prof-dr-florin-georgescu-prim-vice-guvernator-bnr/) and Mihai TĂNĂSESCU, giving personal recognition and appreciation for the specific contribution brought into our country’s relations with international financial institutions.

The ceremony dedicated to granting the title of “Doctor Honoris Causa” of NUPSPA (SNSPA) to Mihai TĂNĂSESCU, Vice-President of the European Investment Bank (EIB), was hosted by the Aula Magna of the Central University Library of Bucharest. It is well known that the EIB is the European Union’s bank, the only bank owned by and representing the interests of the EU Member Statest, working closely with other EU institutions to implement EU policy, and being the largest multilateral borrower and lender by volume, providing finance and expertise for sound and sustainable investment projects which contribute to furthering EU policy objectives (www.eib.org/about/index.htm).

The ceremony was opened and led with well-known professionalism and elegancy by Professor Alina BÂRGĂOANU, Rector of NUPSPA. Professor Iordan Gheorghe BĂRBULESCU, President of NUPSPA Senate, read the contents of the Diploma in Latin, and Dean Nicoleta CORBU, College of Communication and Public Relations, NUPSPA, read the Laudatio.

The acceptance speech “Lectio Prima” – “Eurozone, between past and future” –  given by Mihai TĂNĂSESCU with his well-known competence, high rigor and high relevance, reconfirmed both, his unique combination of practical experience and knowledge, and his passion in serving and promoting a real culture of excellence, capturing the audience’s attention, including by inviting Romanian citizen to give an important message to Europe by proving their involvment in „the right project”.

The ceremony was attended by Vice Prime Ministers Gabriel OPREA and Daniel CHIȚOIU, the Minister of National Education, Professor Remus PRICOPIE (who gave a challenging speech on this very special occasion), Senator Mircea GEOANĂ, Chairman of the Joint Committee of the Romanian Senate and Chamber of Deputies regarding Romania’s Accession to the Schengen Area, Mihnea Costoiu, Minister Delegate for Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Technological Development, the President of the European Investment Bank, Werner HOYER (proving with his speech the EIB team spirit and the collegial atmosphere which made possible the EIB excellence in leadership), the Governor of the National Bank of Romania (NBR), Mugur ISĂRESCU (who underlined the remarkable skills and competences of the honored person), First Deputy Governor of BNR, Florin GEORGESCU, Nicolae Dănilă, Member of the Board of Directors of NBR, Professor Vasile PUŞCAŞ, Head of Institute for International Studies, Babes-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca, and Romanian Chief Negotiator with the European Union (during 2000-2004, when the honored person was Minister of Finance),  Dean Florina PÎNZARU, College of Management, NUPSPA, Professor Pavel NASTASE, Rector of the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies,  Professor Paul DOBRESCU, Former Rector of NUPSPA, Sorin DRAGNEA, Chief Secretary of NUPSPA, other distinguished representatives of NUPSPA and Bucharest academic community, and the last but not the least NUPSPA students, whose listening carefully, learning and thinking accordingly is already well-known.

The ceremony opened and ended framed by the eternal symbol of university life of “Gaudeamus Igitur”, being enjoyed by the qualified audience.

We have the pleasure to honoring excellence in Marketing teaching and effective Marketing science application in business practice on the special occasion of the 10^th Anniversary of  the Faculty of Marketing, the Bucharest University of Economics. Created in the academic year 2003/2004, the Faculty of Marketing materialized the experience acquired by the Department of Marketing within the Bucharest University of Economics. The Faculty of Marketing, the Bucharest University of Economics: has used consequently the scientific method for advancing Marketing knowledge and problem solving, ensuring to their Students the right teaching by providing great content in addition to active learning of how to use Marketing analytics to develop insights, to drive decisions, to implement strategies, and to evaluate actions; did and is continuing doing something relevant to business practice, by applying adequate marketing science models and methods to business problems on the relevant markets. The Faculty of Marketing, the Bucharest University of Economics, has constantly pledged that in the today’s highly competitive Marketing landscape, successful Marketers must understand the trends and also look beyond them, help overwhelmed Customers and Prospects cut through the clutter around them while interacting with brands in the digital and physical worlds, consider social media marketing, personalization and targeting, automation as a key for maximizing conversions throughout a customer’s lifecycle, creativity and innovation in marketing programs, digital advertising, cross-channel marketing, emerging technologies and the rapidly adoption by the customers of the new technologies and incorporation into the everyday live, and adequately measure ROI and prove marketing’s worth at different companies on different relevant markets.

Friday, November 8^th, 2013, within the calendar of events dedicated to the European Citizenship Week at the Romanian National University of Political Studies and Public Administration (NUPSPA), The Aula Magna of the Central University Library of Bucharest  hosted  the ceremony dedicated to granting the title of “Doctor Honoris Causa” of  NUPSPA (SNSPA Bucharest) to Guy VERHOFSTADT MEP, the Leader of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe. It is well known that the European Parliament (EP) is a key institution representing the citizens of the European Union (EU).

Doctor of Law (1975), Prime Minister of Belgium, heading three separate governments over the course of nearly ten years (1999-2008), President of the EU Council (2001, second half-year), elected to the European Parliament in June 2009, Guy VERHOFSTADT is the Author of remarkable books, such as: “The United States of Europe” ( 2006), “The New Age of Empires” (2008), and “Emerging from the Crisis: How Europe can Save the World” (2009).

Within the specific academic atmosphere framed by the beautiful music and lyrics of “Gaudeamus Igitur”, the eternal symbol of university life, Professor Alina BÂRGĂOANU, Rector of NUPSPA, opened the ceremony which enjoyed a qualified audience, and a youthful enthusiasm, characteristic of the NUPSPA students, enthusiasm of thinking and learning about the actual serious EU and World matters. The Ceremony was attended by His Excellency, Philippe BEKE, Ambassador of Belgium in Romania, Professor Remus PRICOPIE, Minister of National Education, Mrs. Ramona Nicole MĂNESCU, Minister of Transports (and a NUPSPA alumna, who read the Laudatio), Professor Vasile SECĂREŞ, Former Rector and Founder of NUPSPA (who gave a challenging speech on this very special occasion), Professor Iordan Gheorghe BĂRBULESCU, President of NUPSPA Senate (who read the contents of the Diploma in Latin), Professor Paul DOBRESCU, Former Rector of NUPSPA (and Author of the Forewords of the two books launched before the ceremony in the „Carol I” Lecture Room), Sorin DRAGNEA, Chief Secretary of NUPSPA, other representatives of NUPSPA academic community, and the last but not the least distinguished Guests Members of the European Parliament and of the Romanian Parliament, and representatives of other Institutions.

The acceptance speech “Lectio Prima” given by Guy VERHOFSTADT with his well-known competence, refinement, and intellectual vigor totally captured his audience’s attention, confirming the proper listeners’ perception of the message concerning – to quote from one of the forewords made by Professor Paul DOBRESCU – “the need to openly analyze the issues that cannot be avoided and to inaugurate a new direction approach that Europe and its citizens have a strong need for.
